Job Summary
The Senior Engineer - Contracts is responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle within the Sourcing Department under the Supply Chain Division. The role involves drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing engineering and commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and organizational standards.
You will work closely with procurement, engineering, legal, finance, and project management teams to ensure the smooth, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods, services, and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
Prepare, draft, review, and finalize engineering and commercial contracts (EPC, SLAs, AMCs, supply agreements).
Ensure compliance with UAE government standards, legal requirements, and company policies.
Manage contract renewals, amendments, extensions, and closure documentation.
Negotiation & Vendor Relations
Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
Support pre-award and post-award activities for technical and commercial teams.
Evaluate and manage supplier/contractor performance.
Risk Monitoring & Compliance
Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in the UAE.
Maintain a centralized contract database and ensure accurate documentation.
Analysis & Reporting
Prepare periodic reports on contract status, deviations, KPIs, risks, and performance indicators.
Provide insights to improve cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Leadership & Development
Support knowledge transfer and training for junior staff.
Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or similar).
Preferred: Master's degree in Contract Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Commercial Law.
Experience
Bachelor's degree: 4-8 years of experience in contract management (preferably EPC).
Master's degree: 2-4 years of experience in contract management.
Skills
Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and risk management.
Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Understanding of pricing models, cost structures, and payment terms.
Languages
English: Required
Arabic: Preferred (advantage for communication with local stakeholders)
