Job Summary:
The Senior Electrician is a highly skilled professional responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. This role requires a master-level understanding of electrical codes, blueprints, and safety protocols. The Senior Electrician often leads a small team of electricians and apprentices, providing guidance, training, and ensuring work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, panels, switchgear, lighting systems, and power distribution systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical malfunctions and breakdowns using testing instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, amp clamps) and systematic problem-solving techniques.
• Technical Leadership: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Provide direction and on-the-job training to junior electricians and apprentices.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce and adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations. Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) before commencing work.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent unscheduled downtime.
• Documentation: Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment records accurately and in a timely manner. Document problems and actions taken.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and complies with all specifications and codes.
• Inventory Management: Assist in managing electrical supplies and parts inventory, identifying needs for specific jobs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: High school diploma or GED. Completion of a formal apprenticeship program.
• Certification: Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, or residential electrical work.
• Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of the NEC, electrical theory, and systems. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
