Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and electrical systems across the yacht fleet to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. Diagnose, analyze, and resolve highly complex electrical and automation issues, including critical and emergency scenarios. Plan, supervise, and execute major electrical repairs, system upgrades, and new installations, including power distribution, navigation, automation, and control systems. Provide technical leadership and guidance to electricians and junior engineers, ensuring work is completed to required standards and best practices. Collaborate closely with engineering teams, vessel captains, and crews to plan electrical maintenance schedules and operational requirements. Review, approve, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, maintenance records, drawings, and reports for each vessel. Act as the primary technical point of contact for electrical emergencies in the marina or harbour, ensuring rapid and effective resolution. Evaluate and implement industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in marine electrical engineering. Ensure full compliance with maritime regulations, classification society requirements, and company safety standards. Conduct risk assessments, enforce safety protocols, and promote a strong safety culture during all electrical engineering activities.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; relevant marine or yacht certifications are a strong advantage. Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in electrical engineering, with significant exposure to marine or yacht electrical systems. Advanced knowledge of marine electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, automation, navigation, and integrated control systems. Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to mentor and manage technical teams. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure, particularly during emergency situations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Strong communication and coordination skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and vessel stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of maritime safety regulations, class requirements, and best practices in yacht electrical maintenance.
