Shell LNG Marketing and Trading is looking for a talented Senior Analyst to join the Data and Digital team (D&D). Where you fit in Trading & Supply (T&S) strives to maximize value creation across commodity markets to support Shell\xe2\x80\x99s objectives of driving the energy transition to net carbon zero whilst generating a high return on capital. With a global remit, the LNG trading business leverages Shell\xe2\x80\x99s deep expertise across the LNG value chain to play an integral role in supporting the T&S business strategy. The role is a key enabler for realizing Shell\xe2\x80\x99s ambition of Powering Progress through building out our digital capabilities, enabling automation and data analysis, and delivering an improved experience for our front, mid and back-office Trading teams. What\xe2\x80\x99s the role? The Senior Analyst will support the Head of D&D Transformation with planning and leading the development of complex digital strategic programmes, projects and products across the business. The role requires interaction with an extensive range of internal stakeholders of varied seniority, across Trading, Finance and Information Technology. The Senior Analyst is also expected to collaborate with the D&D Change Manager and Project Management Office to support robust change management and digital strategy development, embedding new ways of working while managing key process maps and governance frameworks This position has the following accountabilities:

• Lead both research and development of innovative technology solutions, using standards and tools within Shell\xe2\x80\x99s \xe2\x80\x9cdo-it-yourself\xe2\x80\x9d framework, such as Microsoft\xe2\x80\x99s Power Platform, Qlik Sense, Salesforce (including Einstein Analytics), and stay abreast of relevant technologies within or outside of the framework
• Configure, develop and document software and processes, using agreed standards and tools within the framework, including data analysis / visualization
• Spearhead longer-term digital transformation and data governance goals by developing and managing strategic delivery roadmaps in collaboration with the D&D and business teams and shaping the project portfolio through associated prioritization and budgeting exercises
• Manage longer-term digital transformation goals through proposing improvements in culture, ways of working, value, cost, process, data, technology and functionality, championing the development of long-term digital capabilities within the buisness
• Manage assessment and modelling of processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement
• When delivering with/through internal or external Technology teams, ensure solutions to complex problems are properly defined, and lead project through to completion, including
  • Identification of business problems, value drivers, and functional / non-functional requirements, including data and supportability considerations, ensuring traceability of requirements from business needs and requirements, through testing and scope changes to final solution
  • Overseeing translation of requirements into functionality and assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options
  • Identify and articulate benefits to justify solution value and establish approval, funding and prioritization.
  • Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control project delivery activities within agreed parameters of cost, time and quality
  • Robust stakeholder management, involving partnering with and coaching business stakeholders to validate the strategic business case, define success criteria and to identify, measure and sustain planned versus achieved benefit of technology deployment
  • Lead stakeholder management activities including preparation and facilitation of large design or Steering Committee sessions

What we need from You

• Required: Extensive experience in data analysis and modeling, manipulating large data sets in common tools such as Excel, Tableau and Alteryx
• Required: Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture and integration methods, including data lakes and cloud infrastructure
• Required: Deep knowledge of or experience working with common off-the-shelf Shell.diy packages and/or ETRMs such as Endur, MS Power platform (PowerBI, PowerApps, Power Apps), Salesforce, Qlik Sense. Ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in at least two of these areas
• Required: Best-in-class delivery mindset with a focus on hitting deadlines and milestones while working in a flexible way; ability to take a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and pay close attention to detail
• Required: Extensive experience in converging business requirements and system capabilities alongside customer-centric thinking, with ability to describe a \xe2\x80\x98Design thinking\xe2\x80\x99 approach
• Required: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization alongside a \xe2\x80\x98can-do\xe2\x80\x99 attitude and a strong focus on developing a diverse and inclusive working environment
• Required: Ability to help define solutions that are not just technical in nature and may require people, process or data changes to resolve
• Preferred: Extensive experience of working in a Trading environment
• Preferred: Experience working on Agile projects and educating stakeholders including Product Owners and Business partners in Agile ways of working

• Other desirable dimensions include:
  • 8+ years in a fast-paced business environment such as Trading, Software Development or Consulting
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Economics
