Job Summary

  • Approval of credit risk appetite for the bank's corporate clients in the UAE/Middle East region, within their individual delegated credit approval authorities.
  • Managing and mitigating the risk of the bank's Corporate Credit portfolio in the UAE/Middle East region.
  • Oversee and monitor the credit portfolio, ensuring risk diversification and adherence to established credit limits. The portfolio will comprise a spectrum of corporate clients across different segments, including Middle Market, Large Local Corporates, Multi-National Corporations and Government Related Entities.
  • Monitor key credit risk metrics and ensure early identification of potential issues to mitigate risk exposure.
  • Work closely with first line of defence including Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts to ensure high standards of credit analysis and approval submissions.
  • Proactively perform portfolio reviews and stress testing
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and regulators. The role supports the corporate and investment banking business and entails working closely with the First Line of Defence (1LOD) and various other stakeholders - Chief Risk Officer, Chief Credit Officer, Legal, Audit, Product Partners, Middle and Back Office Support etc.
Skills and Experience
  • Experiences in Corporate Banking credit risk management, credit analysis, credit approval, client origination or portfolio management experience
  • Minimum bachelor's degree. CFA, FRM certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to independently manage a portfolio of accounts and run with new deals/transactions with minimal supervision.
  • Sound credit and commercial judgement.
  • Good understanding of Transaction Banking, Trade Financing, Credit and Financial Markets, and Structured Lending products
  • Good knowledge of Legal Documentation
  • Have a sense of ownership, excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Ability to deal with various stakeholders across different functions and levels of seniority.
