Role Purpose:

As a Senior Cloud Engineer for Insight, you will enter a high-energy and tech savvy world. We are looking for someone practical, hands-on experience in cloud application migration and modernization. As a full-time team member, you'll be migrating and/or modernizing enterprise applications for a global reaching company.

Principle Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the accuracy and quality of the deliverables generated at each step in the cloud migration and automation lifecycle

• Deploy and modernize cutting-edge applications

• Serve as technical leader and mentor to uplift the skill sets of everyone on the team

• Educate and coach teammates on automation and best practices to ensure they are capable owners of their applications after handoff

• Deliver technical recommendations to team leadership

• Be a trusted advisor: Understand and effectively communicate features and limitations in the context of cloud design and cloud automation decisions

• Understand and effectively communicate features and limitations in the context of cloud environment and workload decisions

• Help manage the design and migration and modernization process, drive decisions, and coordinate efforts with fellow teammates

• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications and design and conduct validation

• Configure new applications that serve existing software systems and future cloud state

• Support the team by developing documentation and automation tooling curated with the goal of continuous improvement

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• 6+ years of relevant technology experience and skills as listed below

• Expert knowledge of deployment pipelines for cloud-hosted applications - Azure DevOps (primary), Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, Harness.io (secondary)

• Expert knowledge of Cloud resource provisioning templates - Bicep/ARM or Terraform

• Experience deploying cloud resources via Infrastructure-as-Code to Microsoft Azure

• Experience with version control systems primarily Git

• Experience with binary artifact repositories such as Artifactory

• Experience configuring cloud resources with automation platforms - Ansible, Chef, Puppet

• Experience with cloud automation and scripting - Powershell, Python, Bash AzCLI

• Knowledge of Services Oriented Architectures, RESTful Interfaces & Enterprise Application Patterns

• Comfortable in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of the principles & patterns of Agile software development

• Understanding of established software development life cycles

• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

• Enjoy working collaboratively with a team, while also possessing a strong independent work ethic

• Desire to continuously improve her/his craft while adhering to best practices and standards
