Job Description

The Senior Civil Planning Engineer is responsible for the overall project planning, scheduling, and monitoring activities across large-scale civil engineering projects. This role ensures timely project execution by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, analyzing project progress, and implementing corrective actions when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project. Review project scope, specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements. Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, and cost control teams to ensure alignment with the project plan. Monitor progress, identify critical paths, and prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and forecasts. Analyze delays, propose mitigation strategies, and prepare extension of time (EOT) claims if necessary. Participate in progress review meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams. Track resource allocation, productivity, and prepare S-curves and histograms. Support risk management through schedule risk analysis and scenario planning. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the planning process. Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior planning engineers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred). Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in planning & scheduling within large civil infrastructure or construction projects. Proficiency in

Primavera P6

, MS Project, and other planning tools. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract management (FIDIC is a plus), and project controls. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
