MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE: To oversee and coordinate scheduled base maintenance activities by leading and guiding maintenance teams, ensuring all work is performed safely, correctly, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards, and exercising certification authority to ensure timely and compliant aircraft release. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out and certify scheduled base maintenance (C-checks, modifications, repairs) on aircraft in accordance with approved documentation and procedures as C certifier, B1 and/or B2 licensed engineer.
Sign off work package Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) as a C-Certifier under GCAA Part-145 or equivalent regulations.
Drive industry best practice in a digital MRO environment supporting the allocation of daily work matched to manpower and aircraft ground time commitments while monitoring team and check performance (OTP).
Supervise, guide and mentor B1, B2 engineers and mechanics ensuring all maintenance is carried out using the correct tools, equipment, and procedures as per the aircraft maintenance manual (AMM) and other approved documentation.
Lead and manage aircraft base maintenance checks through effective use of digital planning tools, cross-departmental coordination, and data-driven performance monitoring to resolve challenges, maintain turnaround targets, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance efficiency and quality.
Ensure all maintenance documentation and digital records including electronic work cards, technical logbooks, defect rectifications, and modification entries are accurately completed, verified, and stored in accordance with company policies, processes, and procedures.
Report any issues affecting safety, quality, or performance to appropriate departments and take a leading role in addressing and improving in key areas identified under the flydubai safety performance indicators.
Participate in audits and assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for quality findings.
Lead by example in upholding the SMS, driving a strong culture of safety, compliance, and ongoing improvement throughout the aircraft maintenance center.
Build teamwork and transparent communication between shifts, departments, and support functions to optimize efficiency and reduce operational interruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
Bachelor's degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
Fluent in English
Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of Boeing 787, 737NG and/or 737 MAX in a Base Maintenance environment with company C certification approval.
AMOS preferable
Years with qualifications: 8 - 10 years
Current CAR 66 B1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License (or FAA/ICAO equivalent) with ratings on the Boeing 787, 737NG and/or MAX aircraft.
