WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Senior AV & ELV Field Technician will work in partnership with the Global Helpdesk to provide Service support for customers at customer sites with the end goals of restoring functionality to our customers' assets while delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
AV Responsibilities:
Read and interpret electronic schematics, system drawings, and architectural blueprints
Perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of AV systems including professional projectors, video servers, LED walls, and digital signage systems
Clean and maintain AV equipment including (but not limited to) camera lenses, monitors, racks, filters, and equipment fans
Accurately complete job documentation, service reports, redlines, and handover documentation as required
Field installation, commissioning, and servicing of control systems and programs (Crestron, Q-SYS, MediaLon, firmware updates, etc.), including upload/download and validation
Provide field service support for networked AV systems, including routers, switches, VLANs, IP addressing, and basic network troubleshooting
Perform service and installation tasks in a timely and quality-conscious manner including:
+ Pulling and terminating cables
+ Installing connectors and faceplates
+ Mounting projectors, displays, LED panels, and ceiling mounts Maintain and troubleshoot advanced video systems including 7thSense, Pixera, Scalable Displays, Watchout, and digital signage platforms
Setup, configure, and troubleshoot video conferencing and collaboration systems (codecs, cameras, microphones, speakers, control interfaces)
Provide end-user training and basic operational guidance for installed AV systems
Support and mentor junior service technicians and installers when required
Adhere to site-specific HSE and client safety standards across all phases of work
Travel to various client sites across Dubai and the UAE as required
Perform other duties as assigned
ELV Responsibilities:
Install, test, and troubleshoot ELV systems including:
+ Structured cabling (Cat6 / Cat6A / fiber optic)
+ CCTV systems (IP cameras, NVRs, PoE switches)
+ Access control systems (card readers, door controllers, magnetic locks)
+ Intercom and video intercom systems
+ Public Address (PA) and background music systems
+ Master clock and time synchronization systems Perform ELV cable pulling, containment installation (tray, trunking, conduit), dressing, labeling, and termination to industry standards
Test and certify structured cabling using approved test equipment and provide results where required
Interpret ELV layouts, riser diagrams, schematics, and as-built drawings
Integrate ELV systems with AV and IT infrastructure where applicable
Coordinate with main contractors, MEP teams, IT teams, and client representatives on ELV-related works
Ensure ELV installations comply with local authority standards and client HSE requirements
Support ELV system commissioning, handover, and snag resolution
Provide first-line fault finding and rectification for ELV systems under maintenance contracts

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
Strong hands-on capability using hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in live environments
Basic computer literacy (Windows OS, basic networking concepts, documentation tools)
Working knowledge of:
+ Q-SYS, Dante, Crestron, MediaLon
+ 7thSense, Pixera, Scalable Displays Solid understanding of audio, video, control, and ELV signal flow
Ability to manage small to medium AV / ELV work packages or service jobs
Skilled in soldering, crimping, and terminating AV and ELV connectors
Valid UAE driving licence with a motor vehicle record meeting AVI-SPL standards
Education & Experience
Minimum
1-3 years
of AV and/or ELV integration experience preferred
Formal education in Electronics, ELV Systems, or a related field preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
Preferred Training & Certifications
AVIXA CTS (Preferred)
Q-SYS and Dante Certification
Crestron Professional Installation
Extron AV Associate Certification
7thSense / Pixera / Watchout / Scalable training
ELV-related training (CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling - preferred)
This role operates between
AVI-SPL offices in Dubai
and
client sites
across the UAE.
The position involves work in offices, live venues, construction sites, plant rooms, ceiling voids, and equipment rooms. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
