A leading global firm in the financial services sector is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their team in Dubai.
About the Role
As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in managing financial reporting, controls, and compliance for non-IBA (non-insurance broking account) functions. The role includes ownership of month-end close processes, intercompany transactions, tax compliance, and statutory reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS.
Key Responsibilities
Manage month-end close activities: accruals, prepayments, GL adjustments.
Prepare trial balances, reconciliations, P&L reports, and supporting schedules.
Lead intercompany accounting: settlements, reconciliations, and eliminations.
Support VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and external audit processes.
Maintain fixed asset registers and lease accounting under IFRS 16.
Drive revenue recognition processes in line with IFRS 15.
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Participate in system upgrades and ERP implementation testing.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and internal control enhancement.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
Professional qualification (ACCA, CA, CPA, CMA) preferred or in progress.
4-6 years' experience in general accounting, ideally within financial services or insurance.
Solid knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT/corporate tax regulations.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, Xero).
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
