Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing accurate financial reports, and supporting management in decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead junior accountants.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee daily accounting operations (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations).

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, VAT, and other statutory requirements.

Coordinate and support internal and external audits.

Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate reports.

Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions for accuracy.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Supervise and guide junior accountants, providing training and mentorship.

Assist management with financial analysis and recommendations for business decisions.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent preferred).

Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of IFRS / GAAP and local tax laws.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Leadership and team management skills.
