We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented
Senior Accountant
to join our team on a
project basis
. The ideal candidate must have
prior experience in the UAE real estate development industry
and will be responsible for overseeing budgeting, escrow reporting, tax submissions, internal controls, and supporting external audits. This is a critical role that demands hands-on expertise, team supervision, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting & Financial Control
Collect budget inputs from departments and consolidate project-wise budgets.
Monitor and enforce budget controls throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare variance analysis reports and provide financial insights to management.
Support the CFO in preparing financial forecasts and expenditure plans.
Procurement & Cost Management
Coordinate and negotiate with suppliers/vendors for optimal pricing and payment terms.
Verify supplier invoices and ensure proper cost allocation.
Maintain project-specific cost tracking and analysis.
Escrow Management
Create escrow accounts in compliance with real estate regulations.
Maintain accurate escrow reports and ensure timely submissions to authorities and stakeholders.
Ensure alignment with RERA guidelines and audit requirements for escrow usage.
Payroll, Commissions & Internal Financials
Oversee preparation and disbursement of salaries and sales commissions.
Reconcile payroll with HR and ensure timely WPS submissions.
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of internal compensation records.
Taxation & Compliance
Handle VAT submissions, returns, and compliance in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements.
Ensure timely filing of all tax-related documentation and resolve any discrepancies.
Departmental Leadership & Supervision
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and resolve routine issues promptly.
Train and mentor junior accounting staff to improve departmental capabilities.
Support in developing internal processes and documentation standards.
Reporting & External Audit
Prepare managerial reports including cash flow, P&L, and balance sheets.
Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
Follow up on audit findings and ensure issuance of a clean audit report.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA, ACCA, or CPA preferred.
Minimum
5-7 years of accounting experience
, with
mandatory exposure to UAE real estate development projects
.
In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT laws, RERA escrow regulations, and project-based financial tracking.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Tally, Zoho, QuickBooks, or Oracle).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
