Senior Accountant

Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards. This role supports budgeting, audits, financial analysis, and process improvement while supervising junior accounting staff where required.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Financial Accounting & Reporting



Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards. Review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and ensure accurate financial records. Monitor revenue, expenses, and account balances for discrepancies or variances. Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.

B. Accounts Payable & Receivable



Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of payments and receipts. Review vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and student fee transactions (if applicable). Ensure reconciliation of receivables and payables with supporting documentation.

C. Budgeting & Forecasting



Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budget and prepare variance analysis reports. Support management with financial insights for decision-making.

D. Compliance & Audit



Ensure adherence to financial policies, tax regulations, and internal controls. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and prepare audit schedules. Maintain compliance with VAT and other regulatory requirements.

E. Cash Flow & Banking



Monitor daily cash flow and prepare weekly or monthly cash flow reports. Manage bank reconciliations and liaise with banks regarding financial transactions. Support treasury functions, including fund allocation and payment authorization.

F. Process Improvement & Systems Management



Enhance accounting processes, controls, and reporting mechanisms. Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting/ERP software. Train and supervise junior accounting staff where required.

3. Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred). Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, CMA, or CPA (full or part-qualified) are an advantage. Minimum

5-7 years

of relevant accounting experience, preferably in education, training, or service sector. Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT regulations, and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems and MS Excel.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
