The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining and analyzing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring that all financial transactions comply with applicable laws and regulations. They often supervise junior accountants and assist management with budgeting, audits, and financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate posting of journal entries and adjustments.
Month-End & Year-End Close:
Lead and coordinate closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections; monitor variances and provide insights.Support internal and external audits; ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.Prepare or support preparation of tax filings, and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws.Oversee reconciliations and review AP/AR transactions for accuracy.Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy and productivity.Guide and review work of junior accountants or accounting assistants.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS
