to manage and oversee the financial operations of our
heavy machinery rental and sales division
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, analyzing financial data, following up on payments, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role plays a critical part in supporting strategic decisions, cost control, and overall business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Monitor and track revenue from equipment rentals and machinery sales, ensuring accurate invoicing and collections.
Follow up on customer payments, coordinate with the sales team, and maintain aging reports to ensure timely collections.
Handle fixed asset accounting including depreciation, asset tagging, and disposals related to heavy machinery.
Analyze costs and profitability related to equipment rentals, transportation, maintenance, and resale.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Ensure compliance with VAT, tax filings, and other statutory requirements.
Liaise with auditors, banks, suppliers, and clients as needed.
Develop and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff if applicable.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus).
Minimum 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction, heavy equipment, or industrial sector.
Strong understanding of rental and asset-based revenue models.
Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks).
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Experience in
payment follow-ups and accounts receivable management
is essential.
