Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, preparing and analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. This role contributes to financial reporting accuracy, drives process improvements, and provides guidance to junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, reports, and records. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Conduct variance and financial analysis to support business decision-making. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls. Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and responses to audit inquiries. Identify accounting process improvements and support implementation of enhanced procedures. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff and support training. Coordinate with cross-functional teams on financial matters and reporting needs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred. Several years of progressively responsible accounting experience, typically 5+ years. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems; advanced spreadsheet skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
