: Senior Accountant (Retail Specialist)

Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our retail operations. This role involves managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, reconciling retail POS transactions, and providing insightful financial analysis. A deep proficiency in Odoo ERP is essential to maintain integrated data across all retail touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Monitor and report on retail-specific KPIs (e.g., Gross Margin by category, Sales per square foot, Inventory Turnover).
Conduct variance analysis between actual spend and budget.
2. Odoo ERP Management
Manage the Odoo Accounting module, including chart of accounts, journal entries, and automated bank feeds.
Ensure seamless integration between Odoo POS and the General Ledger.
Troubleshoot data discrepancies within Odoo and optimize automated workflows.
3. Inventory & Cost Accounting
Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation between physical stock and Odoo records.
Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and manage price adjustments/markdowns.
Coordinate periodic stocktakes and investigate shrinkage or discrepancies.
4. Retail Operations & Tax
Perform daily reconciliations of cash, credit card, and online payment gateway transactions.
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) for retail suppliers and ensure timely payments.
Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with local regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Category Requirements
Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (CPA/CMA is a plus).
Experience 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in the Retail.
Technical Proficiency in Odoo ERP (Accounting & Inventory modules).
Software Expert level in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Financial Modeling).
Compliance Strong knowledge of IFRS and local Tax/VAT laws.
