Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, compliance with standards, and timely reporting. This role provides critical support in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, contributing to sound business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers in compliance with IFRS and company policies. Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure proper supporting documentation. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as necessary. Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT filing, and other statutory requirements. Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes. Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal controls. Supervise and mentor junior accountants and ensure adherence to reporting deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional Certification is mandatory: CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role. Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial analysis, and UAE tax regulations. Proficient in ERP system (SAP) and Microsoft Excel. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and integrity. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
