Job Description
Senior Accountant for Diversified Trading Company (Textiles, Garments, Real Estate)This Senior Accountant role is for a diversified trading company dealing in textiles, garments, real estate, and potentially other trading activities. The position requires a hands-on individual with strong analytical and reconciliation skills. Responsibilities
Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger for various entities within the group.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement) for individual entities and assist with group consolidation.
Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis and budget performance monitoring, to provide insights to management.
Oversee and ensure compliance with accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and UAE regulations, including VAT and Corporate Tax.
Manage fixed assets, including depreciation and other asset value changes.
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
Handle bank dealings, payments (to suppliers), and coordinate with auditors.
Manage trade documentation, including preparation of contracts and proforma invoices.
Prepare and file VAT returns and ensure compliance with other regulations.
Liaise with internal and external auditors and assist in the finalization of accounts.
Requirements and skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Professional accounting qualification (CA/ACCA/CPA) is highly preferred.Experience:
A minimum of7 years
of progressive accounting experience, with proven expertise in preparing full sets of accounts for multiple entities. Experience in real estate accounting, including rental procedures and monitoring project costs, is valuable.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software/ERPs (e.g., ZERO, INTUIT) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, financial modeling) are essential.Knowledge:
Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP, UAE accounting standards and regulations, and UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; meticulous attention to detail and high integrity; strong organizational and time management skills; effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Preferred:
Experience with trade documentation/logistics is a strong plus. Maturity and a calm demeanor may be preferred.Job Type: Full-time
