We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at LIGHT SPEED GENERAL TRADING LLC, a leading trading company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VAT filing, financial reporting, and a solid working knowledge of Zoho Books. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT regulations, and the trading industry.
Key Responsibilities:
VAT Filing & Compliance:
Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE tax regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate VAT filings, including the preparation of VAT reports and reconciliation of VAT records.
Advise management on VAT-related matters and provide support in the event of audits by tax authorities.
Monitor VAT-related transactions and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Perform general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliation.
Assist with preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and monthly management reports.
Ensure proper recording of all financial transactions in Zoho Books.
Zoho Books Software Utilization:
Effectively utilize Zoho Books to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Manage invoicing, purchase orders, and receipts through Zoho Books.
Implement and maintain efficient workflows for financial processes within Zoho Books.
Generate and analyze financial reports and provide insights to management.
Trading Company Specific Tasks:
Reconcile trade transactions and maintain records of goods sold and purchased.
Manage inventory accounting and assist with valuation reports.
Track and reconcile import/export transactions and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
Collaborate with the operations team to manage cost analysis and improve financial efficiency.
Audit & Internal Controls:
Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and records.
Support the implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a trading company, with a strong understanding of VAT filing and compliance.
Proven experience in using Zoho Books or similar accounting software (knowledge of Zoho Books is a significant advantage).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance procedures.
Excellent command of Zoho Books software, with the ability to streamline processes and generate accurate financial reports.
Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Additional Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
