The Role
The Senior Accountant will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, VAT, and corporate tax return filings, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in Tally software, Microsoft Excel, and chartered accountancy certification. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: - Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. - Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant deviations. General Ledger Management: - Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger. - Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes. - Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies. Budgeting and Forecasting: - Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. - Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, providing analysis andrecommendations. Accounts Payable and Receivable: - Supervise the accounts payable and receivable processes. - Ensure timely invoicing and collections, and manage vendor payments. VAT and Corporate Tax Compliance: - Accurately prepare and file VAT and corporate tax returns. - Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations. - Liaise with tax authorities and manage any tax audits or queries. Internal Controls and Compliance: - Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. - Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies. - Coordinate with external auditors during audits and implement audit recommendations. Cost Management: - Analyze and report on cost structures and efficiencies. - Implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor their effectiveness. Financial Analysis: - Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support business decisions. - Conduct profitability analysis of various service lines and customer segments. Petty Cash Management: - Oversee the management and reconciliation of petty cash. - Ensure all petty cash transactions are recorded accurately and timely. Staff Payroll Management: - Manage the payroll process for all staff, ensuring accurate and timely payment. - Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Cash Remittances: - Monitor and manage cash remittances, ensuring timely and accurate deposits. - Reconcile cash receipts with bank deposits and resolve discrepancies. Bank Reconciliation: - Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. - Identify and resolve any discrepancies between bank statements and company records. Audit Preparation: -Prepare statements and provide accurate data to external auditors. -Support quarterly and annual audits by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of required information. Team Leadership: - Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities. - Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
