Minimalist.ae is a local brand founded in 2016 in Dubai that designs and manufactures elegant, high-quality watches, jewelry, handbags, perfumes, and leather goods designed to enhance personal style. With two stores now open in the UAE, we focus on simple yet sophisticated designs, with specifically our Arabic numeral watches being known for their timeless appeal. Minimalist believes in simplicity and uses only the finest materials to produce beautiful and durable items, combining elegant design with excellent quality.
We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join us.
As Senior Accountant, you will be handling financial and bookkeeping processes, including managing a team of experienced accountants.
Book and record financial transactions (receivables & payables), reconcile sub-ledgers and ledgers, prepare financial statements; Devise monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, projections, and forecasts; Assess internal controls and risks and derive ways of mitigating risks; Prepare periodical reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) and identify areas of improvement and cost savings; Prepare, support, and coordinate annual external audits of the company's finances.
Responsibilities:
At least 5, ideally 7+ years of experience in financial management and accounting in an eCommerce business or digital startup; 2+ years of experience with UAE VAT regulations; 2+ years of experience with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online A Bachelor's and/or Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or general Business Administration; At least 1 accounting certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, etc.), ideally also with certification & experience in IFRS; Outstanding communication skills (verbal & written) in English.
