Job Description
A Senior Accountant manages a company's financial records by ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and efficient operations. Key duties include preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable/receivable, and assisting with audits and tax returns. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel, and often involves mentoring junior staff. Key responsibilities
Financial reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and forecasts.General ledger management:
Oversee the general ledger, conduct account reconciliations, and manage month-end and year-end close processes.Accounts management:
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.Compliance and auditing:
Ensure compliance with accounting principles (like GAAP) and tax regulations, and assist with internal and external audits.Budgeting and forecasting:
Assist with the creation of budgets and forecasts, and analyze budget vs. actual variances.Team supervision:
Train, mentor, and supervise junior accounting staff and delegate tasks.Process improvement:
Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial procedures.Required skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification is often preferred. Several years of accounting experience, often including experience with general ledger functions and the month-end close process. Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR6,000.00 per month
