Job Summary

The Senior Accountant - Accounts Payable will be responsible for managing and controlling accounts payable related to

materials, services, and CAPEX

for construction projects. The role ensures accurate accounting, timely payments, compliance with contract terms, and coordination with procurement, project, and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

Process and review

supplier invoices

related to

construction materials, services, and CAPEX

. Ensure invoices are matched with

LPOs, GRNs, delivery notes, and service completion certificates

. Verify

pricing, quantities, VAT treatment

, and contract terms before posting. Maintain accurate accounting of

CAPEX purchases

, asset capitalization, and depreciation coordination. Coordinate with

Procurement, Stores, Projects, and QS teams

for invoice approvals. Prepare and manage

supplier payment schedules

and ensure timely payments. Perform

vendor reconciliations

and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies. Monitor and control

creditor ageing

and outstanding balances. Post accurate

AP journal entries

in ERP systems. Ensure compliance with

UAE VAT regulations

and proper documentation. Assist in

month-end closing

, accruals, and provisions. Support

internal and external audits

related to accounts payable. Maintain proper documentation and filing for audit and statutory purposes. Improve

AP controls, procedures, and system efficiency

.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in

Accounting, Finance, or Commerce

. Minimum

4 years of relevant experience

in

accounts payable within a construction or contracting company

. Strong experience in

materials, services, and CAPEX accounting

. Knowledge of

UAE VAT

and construction procurement processes. Hands-on experience with

ERP systems

(SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Tally, or similar). Proficient in

MS Excel

and accounting software.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of construction AP workflows. High accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to handle high-volume transactions. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
