Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as applicable tax regulations in the United Arab Emirates, including Value Added Tax (VAT) and Corporate Tax. The role includes preparation of accurate financial statements, tax filings, and providing support in financial and tax advisory matters.

Key Responsibilities:

- Record and review journal entries and day-to-day accounting transactions.

- prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.

- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable, and receivable.

- Prepare and review VAT and Corporate Tax returns in accordance with UAE regulations.

- Ensure proper calculation and reporting of corporate taxable income based on the UAE Corporate Tax Law.

- Monitor and apply updates in tax laws and regulations issued by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

- Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors to support external audits and tax reviews.

- Assist in the preparation of tax files and financial reports required by regulatory authorities.

- Analyze financial performance, cash flow, and assist in management reporting.

- Support the enhancement of internal accounting and tax reporting procedures.

- Ensure accuracy and compliance of all financial records and tax filings.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance .

- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are preferred.

- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior accounting role within UAE .

- Comprehensive understanding of the UAE Corporate Tax Law and (VAT), including experience in preparing related tax returns and reports in compliance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.

- Strong knowledge of IFRS and tax reporting frameworks.

- Proficiency in accounting systems such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks ,etc.

- Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and reporting.

- High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to details .
