We are seeking a highly experienced

Senior Accountant

to join our finance team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance within the

construction industry

and demonstrate deep knowledge of

UAE financial regulations

,

VAT laws

, and

project-based accounting

. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing the company's financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and project cost reports. Handle

project-based accounting

, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring project expenditures. Ensure compliance with

UAE VAT regulations

and timely submission of VAT returns. Coordinate with auditors for annual external audits and ensure proper documentation. Monitor and manage cash flow, bank transactions, and fund allocations for projects. Liaise with project managers, procurement, and site teams to ensure accurate financial tracking. Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies in line with IFRS. Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for cost control and profit maximization. Support the Finance Manager or CFO in strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;

CPA, CMA, or ACCA

certification is highly preferred.

Minimum 10 years of accounting experience

in the UAE Strong knowledge of

UAE accounting standards, VAT laws

, and

IFRS

. Proficient in accounting software (e.g.,

Tally, QuickBooks, ERP systems

, etc.). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
