The SEM Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, and emerging ad networks. This role focuses on increasing online visibility, driving qualified traffic, and maximizing return on ad spend (ROAS) through data-driven and AI-supported strategies. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, results-oriented, and deeply familiar with current and emerging trends in paid media, audience targeting, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and optimize SEM strategies to increase online visibility and drive high-quality traffic.
Conduct comprehensive keyword research, audience segmentation, and competitive analysis to uncover growth opportunities.
Create, manage, and continually refine PPC campaigns across platforms including Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and YouTube.
Implement AI-enhanced tools (e.g., Performance Max, Smart Bidding, automation scripts) to improve campaign performance and efficiency.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics such as CTR, CPC, conversion rate, ROAS, and Quality Score using tools like Google Analytics 4 and Looker Studio.
Optimize ad copy, headlines, assets, and landing pages through continuous A/B and multivariate testing.
Use audience signals, custom intent targeting, and remarketing strategies to improve campaign precision and results.
Collaborate with the content, creative, and development teams to ensure alignment between ad messaging, landing pages, and user journey.
Stay informed on platform updates (e.g., Google Ads AI updates, new ad formats, cookie-less tracking changes) and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage.
Manage campaign budgets and pacing to ensure full delivery and optimal return.
Prepare detailed performance reports and present strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
2+ years of hands-on experience managing SEM and PPC campaigns across major platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads).
Strong command of Google Ads features, including Smart Campaigns, Responsive Search Ads, and Performance Max.
Proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, SEMrush, SpyFu, and Microsoft Clarity.
Proven ability to analyze data, uncover insights, and make strategic campaign adjustments.
Experience with bid automation strategies, conversion tracking, and advanced campaign settings.
Familiarity with pixel setup, conversion APIs, and cookie-less attribution tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus for landing page optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
Google Ads or Microsoft Ads certification.
Experience with cross-channel digital marketing (SEO, Display, YouTube, Meta Ads, or LinkedIn Ads).
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and data analysis platforms (BigQuery, Power BI, etc.).
Understanding of UTM tagging, funnel tracking, and CRM integration for lead attribution.
