Overview

***This position will support APS5 and it is contingent upon award***

Under the guidance of Security Manager, the Security Specialist provides total oversight of the administrative and operational functions of the security function section. The position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the sections overall activities and functions. The position requires maturity, judgment, communication skills, team focus in addition to good temperament skills. The position regularly interacts internally and externally with the customer and other government representatives. Daily interface with all levels of the Program's administrative and operational sections will also be required.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

+ Provides direction, guidance, leadership and support administratively and operationally to the overall activities and functions of the security function section

+ Oversees quality control checks of all base access and badge requests to ensure completeness and correctness in accordance with installation access policies

+ Evaluate how overall work Center performance is meeting Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements.

+ Manages communications with Site Supervisors and addresses all issues concerning Security functions, Badging and Screening processes or policies after initial review

+ Delivers quality assurance of correct and complete packets and assists in scheduling all screening interviews

+ Actively participates in meetings and discussions pertaining to the activities encompassed in the administrative and management functions of the Screening Cell.

+ Will be the lead point of contact for the Base Security functions

+ Evaluate and resolve customer complaints and take actions to preclude reoccurrence.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

+ Minimum Qualifications; Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or closely related field is preferred.

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen

+ Must be CAC eligible

+ Must be working in Security related field

+ Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

+ Experience:

+ A minimum of seven (7) years in a DOD environment (Civilian or Military), with at least five (5) years of leadership/management experience.

+ Candidate must also be able to work under pressure in a high tempo environment and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

+ Skills;

+ Must have higher or Senior level organizational skills.

+ Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Project and Visio.

+ Ability to work with very diverse workforce.

+ Excellent English communicator both in writing and verbally.

+ Expertise in how SOP'S, Plans, Work Instructions, processes are executed is a must.

+ Proven skills in Analytical/Problem Solving.

+ Strong planning and organizational skills.

+ Strong attention to detail is required.

+ Working Conditions:

+ Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

+ Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

+ Physical Requirements:

+ Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

+ Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

+ Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

+ Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
