Egypt Education Platform is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic

Secondary English Teacher

for the academic year 2026-2027 to join our esteemed team at

"GEMS British International School in Madinaty "

. This role provides an excellent opportunity for skilled educators to inspire students and foster a deep appreciation for the English language and literature.


The position is based in Cairo, Egypt, with a preference for candidates who have experience teaching the British curriculum internationally or in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the British Curriculum for Secondary English, focusing on reading, writing, literature, and critical thinking. Use diverse teaching methodologies to meet the varying needs and learning styles of students, ensuring an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. Assess and track student progress through various evaluation methods, providing meaningful feedback to enhance student learning outcomes. Encourage a love for English literature through stimulating discussions, projects, and extracurricular activities, such as book clubs and writing contests. Collaborate with fellow educators to create cross-curricular connections and enhance the overall educational experience for students. Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and provide strategies for academic development. Commit to professional development through participation in training sessions, workshops, and educational conferences.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field is required. A minimum of 3 years' teaching experience in a Secondary English role, preferably within the British curriculum framework. Strong knowledge and understanding of English language and literature, with the ability to motivate and engage students effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Creative and adaptable teaching style that accommodates diverse learning needs. Dedication to continuous professional development and engagement in school activities. PGCE certification is a plus.
