What are we looking? We at Al Sharqi Al Sharqi Shipping Co LLC are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sea Operations Associate to oversee and manage the efficient and effective execution of all sea-related logistics and operations for our company. This role involves coordinating various aspects of sea freight, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods, and maintaining strong relationships with partners and stakeholders in the maritime industry. Position is Ajman based. Key Responsibilities: Sea Freight Operations Management:
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee sea freight shipments, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to secure and manage cargo bookings, container allocations, and transportation schedules.
  • Monitor vessel schedules and ensure timely departure and arrival of shipments to meet customer requirements.
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, certificates of origin, customs declarations, and other relevant paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements to prevent delays and avoid legal issues.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
  • Maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, carriers, and other service providers to negotiate favorable terms, rates, and services.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source and select reliable vendors and partners for sea freight services.
Cargo Tracking and Monitoring:
  • Implement tracking systems and tools to monitor the status and location of cargo throughout its journey.
  • Proactively identify and address any potential disruptions or delays in transit and implement contingency plans as needed.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
  • Develop and manage budgets for sea freight operations, including vessel chartering, port charges, demurrage, and other related expenses.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize shipping routes and methods to achieve operational efficiency.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess potential risks related to sea freight operations and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact sea operations and adapt strategies accordingly.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and manage a team of sea operations staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications and Skills: \xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master\'s degree preferred). \xc2\xb7 Relevant experience of 1-2 years in air operations, airfreight forwarding, or aviation logistics, with a focus on supporting operational activities. \xc2\xb7 Understanding of international aviation regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance. \xc2\xb7 Strong communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders. \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with relevant software and tools for cargo tracking, documentation, and reporting. \xc2\xb7 Attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly in supporting complex logistics processes. \xc2\xb7 Ability to support team efforts, learn quickly, and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
