We are seeking an experienced Scientific Engagement and Marketing Lead with a strong background in healthcare marketing and scientific event management to establish and lead our medico-marketing function and drive revenue growth. This role combines strategic scientific and marketing leadership with hands-on execution, with a particular emphasis on planning and executing high-quality scientific meetings, symposia, and educational programs for healthcare professionals.
As our first dedicated medico-marketing professional, you will build the function from the ground up, working closely with our sales team to increase our revenue within 12 months through HCP engagement, relationship building, and educational initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Scientific Meeting & Event Management (60%)
Planning & Strategy:
Design and execute annual calendar of scientific meetings, symposia, webinars, and educational programs
Develop scientific agendas aligned with clinical priorities and our test menu capabilities
Research emerging topics in diagnostics, genetics, and functional medicine relevant to target audiences
Establish CME accreditation for educational programs with DHA/MOHAP where applicable
Speaker & Faculty Management:
Identify and recruit key opinion leaders (KOLs), specialists, and subject matter experts as speakers
Manage speaker relationships including invitations, briefings, and follow-up
Coordinate speaker logistics (travel, accommodation, honorariums at fair market value)
Develop speaker agreements ensuring compliance with UAE healthcare regulations
Brief speakers on presentation requirements, timing, and audience profile
Event Production & Execution:
Source and negotiate with venues, caterers, AV providers, and event suppliers
Manage event budgets
Coordinate all event logistics: invitations, registration, materials, signage, catering
Oversee on-site event management ensuring professional execution
Manage virtual event platforms for webinars and hybrid events
Ensure compliance with all venue, safety, and regulatory requirements
Event Marketing & Promotion:
Create event marketing campaigns including email invitations, social media promotion, and direct outreach
Work with sales team to drive HCP attendance and maximize registration
Develop post-event follow-up sequences to nurture leads and maintain engagement
Measure event ROI through attendance, engagement, and subsequent referral patterns
CME & Compliance:
Navigate DHA/MOHAP CME accreditation processes
Ensure all scientific content is evidence-based and compliant with healthcare regulations
Maintain documentation of educational program attendance and evaluations
Ensure events comply with MOHAP Code of Ethics regarding HCP engagement
2. Marketing Strategy & Leadership (15%)
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute comprehensive 12-month marketing strategy aligned with revenue goals
Define target HCP segments and create tailored marketing approaches
Conduct competitive analysis and market research
Establish marketing KPIs and tracking mechanisms
Manage annual marketing budget
Brand Development & Positioning:
Establish brand positioning as a center of excellence for advanced diagnostics and genetic testing
Develop brand guidelines, messaging frameworks, and value propositions
Oversee visual identity and ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints
Position lab as thought leader in genetic testing and functional medicine
Partnership Development:
Identify and develop strategic partnerships (insurance companies, corporate wellness, medical centers)
Create co-marketing programs with partners
Negotiate partnership agreements with legal and management oversight
Manage partner relationships and measure partnership ROI
3. Sales Enablement & Support (15%)
Sales Team Collaboration:
Develop sales enablement materials (presentations, brochures, battle cards, case studies)
Conduct weekly marketing-sales alignment meetings
Train sales team on new campaigns, messages, and materials
Support major account pursuits with custom presentations and proposals
4. Digital Marketing & Content (10%)
Content Strategy & Creation:
Develop content marketing strategy (blog posts, white papers, case studies, videos)
Create educational content for HCPs on clinical utility of tests
Write and distribute monthly newsletters and email campaigns
Produce thought leadership articles and scientific summaries
Oversee video production (lab tours, test explanations, HCP testimonials)
Digital Presence Management:
Manage company website, HCP portal, and online test ordering system
Execute SEO/SEM strategy to drive organic and paid traffic
Lead social media strategy (primarily LinkedIn for B2B HCP engagement)
Manage email marketing campaigns with segmentation and automation
Implement and monitor LinkedIn advertising campaigns
Track digital analytics and optimize campaigns based on data
Technology & Tools:
Manage marketing technology stack (CRM, email platform, analytics, design tools)
Ensure integration between marketing automation and CRM systems
Generate performance dashboards and reports
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
MBA or Medical degree
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of medico-marketing experience in healthcare, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices
Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on scientific meeting/event planning and execution
Proven experience in B2B healthcare marketing
Demonstrated success in HCP engagement and relationship marketing
Experience managing marketing budgets
Technical Skills:
Expert-level event planning and project management skills
Proficiency in digital marketing (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing)
Experience with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
Strong content creation skills (writing, editing, presentation design)
Knowledge of design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
Data analysis and reporting capabilities
Social media management platforms (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar)
Regulatory & Compliance:
Strong understanding of UAE healthcare regulations (MOHAP, DHA, DOH)
Knowledge of ethical guidelines for HCP engagement and medical marketing
Experience navigating CME accreditation processes
Understanding of pharmaceutical/medical device promotional codes (IFPMA, EFPIA principles)
Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of diagnostic testing, laboratory services, and healthcare delivery
Familiarity with genetic testing, functional medicine, or advanced diagnostics (preferred)
Knowledge of UAE healthcare ecosystem and market dynamics
Understanding of B2B healthcare sales cycles and decision-making processes
