Role Summary:

A key member of the Scientific & Professional affairs department, the Scientific affairs lead - CSS MEA will be responsible for providing high-level, evidence-based medical and educational leadership that supports CSS\'s product portfolio and drives growth.

The Scientific affairs lead will provide highly scientific and clinical expertise to internal and external stakeholders in support of the strategic developments of the franchise, including critical analyses of scientific data, performing literature reviews, and developing high-quality, compliant scientific materials and respond to medical information requests and provide strategic input on long-term product opportunities and portfolio strategies.

This individual will also establish the education strategy and implementation of innovative educational solutions around the specialties. Enhance the education learning curriculums to sharpen clinical skills and reshape patient care and restore more lives.

Working closely with the Health Economics and Market Access teams, the Scientific affairs lead will support integrated evidence generation and dissemination strategies that support product approvals, claims development, and product adoption and lifecycle management.

Additionally, this individual will establish and maintain relationships externally with key customers and stakeholders to anticipate industry trends, and understand clinical/medical insights, unmet medical needs and global standards of care to deliver quality products/solutions.

Main Professional Education Principal duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead ProfEd insights, strategy, design and tactics to support the MEA business imperatives in close collaboration with the CSS marketing team as well as global and EMEA education teams.
  • Build, leverage and implement innovative disease-centric customer learning pathways for the relevant specialty, as well as establish a clear ProfEd plan incl. the latest and fast changing product portfolio.
  • A key component of this role is leading flagship & innovative education initiatives such as training villages at key congresses, in addition to running hands-on wetlab & cadaveric workshops.
  • Plan and control the budget of the education courses, and continuously measure and analyze results to suggest and implement improvements in the training pathway.
  • Build and leverage education partnerships with strategically important regional medical societies.
  • Ensure measurable and effective delivery of all education events for the relevant specialties
  • Master and leverage the relevant systems for the design and execution of educational initiatives.
Commercial Education Principal duties and responsibilities:
  • Regional & EMEA wide coordination for in-depth training on the platforms for new hire training and existing sales consultants, in close collaboration with Global GES and EMEA marketing teams
  • Acceleration field readiness for new product launches across the region (launch excellence), in close partnership with the EMEA Franchise team.
  • New hire training (Foundations Program): Ensure measurable and effective delivery of new hire training (clinical and non-clinical) across the customer segment.
  • Existing Sales Force training (Advanced & Master): Ensure up to date learning activities that improve Sales Force competitiveness (continuous learning & re-certification)
  • Onboarding, training and continuous development of a MEA network of Field Sales Trainers/SME\'s for the relevant platforms.
  • Leading the continuous learning experience of MEA CSS sales force through the relevant combination of Knowledge checks, recertification, and bite-size learning
Medical Affairs responsibilities:
  • Provide highly scientific and clinical expertise to internal and external stakeholders in support of the strategic developments of the franchise, including critical analyses of scientific data, performing literature reviews, and developing high-quality, compliant scientific materials.
  • Respond to medical information requests and provide strategic input on long-term product opportunities and portfolio strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders to anticipate industry trends, and understand clinical/medical insights, unmet medical needs and global standards of care.
  • Support the region for specific projects, partner with the regional and EMEA Marketing organization, local platform champions as well as geography sales and marketing leaders and associates.
  • Manage the copy approval process for the CSS educational assets.
Nonclinical education responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, development and end to end execution of non-clinical professional education offerings including procurement development programs, hospital management, nurse development programs and other non-franchise focused courses.
Qualifications

A successful candidate will need to have/be:
  • Advanced Scientific Degree in relevant scientific or medical field. (MD/Ph.D. PharmD preferred). Cardiology or Electrophysiology Degree is considered as a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical, medical affairs or related technical experience with industry/academic research experience preferred.
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong understanding of the Franchise products, clinical and medical strategies to provide strategic input to publication planning, evidence generation and dissemination strategies.
  • Experience in the delivery of medical device or professional education programs incl. educational components.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with key healthcare stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex scientific and medical information to diverse audiences.
  • Flexible self-starter with excellent networking and team building capabilities required.
  • Advanced project management skills and demonstration of competencies for creativity, problem-solving, and innovative solutions required.
  • Ability to balance multiple and complex tasks and work effectively in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
  • Sound business acumen and financial calculation skills to establish dashboards and proven ability to understand business strategy.
  • Proven leadership ability to effectively motivate and engage with colleagues and external partners, including remotely.
  • Proven ability to understand business strategy; translate it into solutions that support the company\'s business goals.
  • Flexible and willing to travel frequently (50% of time).
