Position Overview
GEMS World Academy - Dubai (GWA), an IB World School and part of GEMS Education, is inviting applications for Secondary Science Teachers to join from August 2026. Established in 2008, GWA offers PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programmes, serving a diverse international community. The Science department is well known for its innovation, academic outcomes, and supportive environment, providing an opportunity to inspire a love of Science in one of Dubai's leading IB schools.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inquiry-based lessons in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) aligned with IB MYP and DP standards
• Inspire students to achieve academic excellence through innovative teaching methods and personal support
• Assess, monitor, and guide student learning progress, ensuring both academic and personal development
• Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and departmental initiatives
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school community events
• Align teaching with IB Learner Profile values and support holistic education goals
• Promote a classroom culture that nurtures curiosity, problem-solving, and independent thinking

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor of Education degree, or bachelor's degree plus PGCE / PGDE in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
• Minimum 3 years' teaching experience in Secondary Science
• IB MYP and DP teaching experience preferred, though not mandatory
• Advanced qualifications desirable
• Strong classroom management and proven record of student success
• Passion for teaching in a culturally diverse, non-selective environment
• Availability from August 2026
