Position: Full-Time School Librarian
Location: RAK American School, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
Start Date: Immediate / August 2025
Salary: AED 10,000 12,000 per month (based on qualifications and experience)
RAK American School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Librarian to join our team for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading and learning in students, manage the schools library resources effectively, and support both students and teachers in the development of research and information literacy skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including cataloging, organizing, and maintaining library resources.
Assist students and staff in selecting appropriate resources for research and reading.
Promote a positive and engaging reading culture throughout the school.
Develop and implement library programs and activities to encourage reading and information literacy.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom instruction.
Provide library orientation and information literacy training to students and staff.
Maintain a system for tracking books, materials, and resources, ensuring availability and accessibility.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience as a school librarian or in a related library field.
Knowledge of library management software and digital resources.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
A passion for reading, education, and supporting student learning.
Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
