Position Overview

We are looking for a passionate and experienced School Librarian to develop and implement our comprehensive library program across all age groups. The ideal candidate will inspire students to become confident researchers and lifelong learners while maintaining the highest standards of information literacy instruction. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape our information literacy curriculum and contribute to our students' academic development and intellectual growth.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate information literacy lessons aligned with British curriculum standards Assess and track student progress in research skills and digital literacy, providing constructive feedback to students and parents Organize and manage the library, ensuring its effective use by students and teaching staff Curate and maintain a diverse, high-quality collection of physical and digital resources to support curriculum needs Manage library systems, cataloging, and circulation processes efficiently Organize and host reading programs, author visits, book clubs, and literacy events Lead professional development sessions for teaching staff to enhance their integration of library resources and research skills Collaborate with all academic departments to support curriculum delivery and student research projects Maintain library equipment, technology resources, and ensure optimal learning environment Identify students with exceptional research abilities and provide pathways for academic enrichment Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's information literacy program

Qualifications & Requirements

Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent qualification (essential) Minimum 2 years of experience as a Librarian in an educational setting UAE experience preferred Proven track record in developing and implementing library programs and information literacy curricula Strong understanding of digital resources, databases, and educational technology Experience in organizing literacy events and reading programs Strong understanding of child development and differentiated instruction techniques Experience in international school settings preferred
