Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Scaffold Assembly:

Erect scaffolding structures according to plans and project requirements. Ensure that all scaffolding is stable, secure, and properly aligned.

Dismantling and Rebuilding:

Safely dismantle scaffolds once the work is completed or when they are no longer needed. Rebuild scaffolds for new tasks as necessary.

Safety Compliance:

Follow all relevant safety guidelines and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure the scaffold is safe for workers and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Inspection and Maintenance:

Regularly inspect scaffolding for damage or defects, making necessary repairs to keep scaffolds in safe working condition.

Collaboration:

Work closely with site managers, supervisors, and other construction workers to ensure efficient project flow. Communicate effectively regarding scaffolding needs and safety procedures.

Load Bearing Checks:

Ensure scaffolding can safely support the required load, and make adjustments to structures as necessary.

Training & Development:

Participate in training sessions to maintain knowledge of scaffolding systems, safety standards, and relevant construction techniques.

Requirements:

Experience:

Prior experience as a scaffolder or in a similar construction role. Knowledge of scaffold types and construction methods.

Physical Fitness:

Ability to work at heights and lift heavy materials. Must have a good level of physical fitness and stamina.

Safety Awareness:

Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures, particularly working at heights.

Team Player:

Ability to work well in a team, and take direction when needed, but also capable of working independently.

Tools & Equipment:

Familiarity with the use of scaffolding tools and equipment such as spanners, bolts, planks, and scaffold tubes.

Ability to address and resolve issues related to scaffold assembly or site conditions.

Attention to Detail:

Strong attention to detail to ensure scaffolding is installed correctly and safely.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, workers, and other construction personnel.
