Job Description

Job purpose:

Bring new revenue into digital products, delivering content marketing, thought leadership placement and online advertising revenue growth.

The sales executive will be responsible for discovering and pursuing new sales prospects, negotiating deals, while maintaining and growing business with existing customers. This role will interact with small, medium, high-profile accounts within the energy value-chain. We are looking for a competitive, dynamic, and trustworthy sales executive to help build up our business. If you have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable reaching out to potential customers to demonstrate our services and products through email and phone, we\'d like to meet you.

Key accountabilities:
  • Actively seek new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and social media.
  • Set up meetings with potential clients to understand their business needs. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations and proposals on products and services.
  • Achieving and exceeding agreed show and personal revenue and profit targets
  • Manage existing accounts to maintain the business relations with them and grow the commercial cooperation.
  • Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve better results. Work closely with editorial, marketing and ability to operate as one team.
  • Attend events and liaising with exhibitor and sponsor clients onsite to ensure that their contract is fulfilled, and all their concerns and needs are addressed.
  • Keep up to date via a wide range of material including various industry publications relevant to the topic areas and audiences of assigned conferences for developments and trends in the industry.
  • Understand the market trends, changes and overall situation to be able to offer value proposition to the clients.
Job context:

Our digital news and thought leadership platform within the energy industry. It was launched in November 2021 but it has an strong industry background and recognition. We are looking for a motivated and dynamic salesperson with a results-driven philosophy and the capacity to meet sales goals. Preferably with experience in the events and media industries.

The right candidate will be optimistic and with high sense of responsibility. Empathy is also needed to identify with customers and assist in the challenges they are facing and propose solutions.

Qualifications and experience:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
  • Experience working in media and/or event sales and can showcase a strong sales skill set: lead generation, cold calling, working with CRM systems, cultivating sales proposals, identifying the right decision-makers to sign-off a sale.
  • A bonus would be to have worked in the energy market in sales or on the client side, but not a requirement.
Minimum Experience:
  • 2 years\' experience working in either domestic or global market.
  • A bonus would be someone who has most recently worked within the energy sector.
