Safety Officer Responsibilities (Contracting)

Manage as a leader in Multiple sites

1. Site Safety Management

Ensure compliance with project HSE plan, local authority regulations, and company safety policies. Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts or conditions. Stop unsafe work practices and report violations to site management.

2. Risk Assessment & Method Statements

Assist in preparing and implementing

Risk Assessments (RA)

and

Method Statements (MS)

. Ensure workers follow approved RA/MS for all site activities. Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for high-risk activities.

3. Training & Awareness

Conduct

site safety induction

for new workers and visitors. Provide toolbox talks and safety briefings regularly. Ensure workers are trained in PPE usage, work-at-height, confined space, and equipment operation.

4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Ensure correct PPE is provided, used, and maintained. Monitor compliance with PPE requirements on site. Report shortages or misuse of safety equipment.

5. Accident & Incident Management

Report, investigate, and document accidents, incidents, and near misses. Prepare incident investigation reports with corrective and preventive actions. Maintain accident records and statistics.

6. Emergency Preparedness

Implement emergency response procedures (fire, evacuation, first aid). Conduct emergency drills and ensure availability of first aiders and fire wardens. Coordinate with site management during emergencies.

7. Equipment & Work Permit Control

Check safety compliance of tools, machinery, lifting equipment, and scaffolding. Ensure valid third-party certificates for cranes, lifts, and heavy equipment. Monitor Permit-to-Work systems (hot work, confined space, work at height).

8. Housekeeping & Environmental Safety

Maintain good housekeeping standards at site. Ensure proper waste disposal and environmental protection measures. Control dust, noise, and other environmental hazards.

9. Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with Project Manager, Site Engineer, and Supervisor on safety matters. Liaise with client, consultant, and authorities during safety inspections. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.

10. Legal & Compliance

Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law, Civil Defense, Municipality, and project-specific HSE requirements. Support audits and inspections by client, consultant, and authorities. Ensure closure of safety observations and NCRs.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
