Job Description

Responsibilities of a Safety Engineer:

Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment:

Identify potential safety hazards and perform risk analyses. Recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Developing Safety Protocols:

Create safety policies, procedures, and manuals. Implement safety programs aligned with industry standards (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH).

Site Inspections & Audits:

Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards. Report unsafe practices or conditions and follow up on corrective actions.

Accident Investigation:

Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes. Recommend improvements to avoid recurrence.

Training & Awareness:

Train employees on safety practices, PPE usage, and emergency procedures. Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Collaboration & Communication:

Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and workers on safety matters. Communicate safety performance and updates to management.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain safety records (incident logs, training records, inspections). Submit reports to regulatory bodies when required.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background:

Bachelor's in Engineering (Civil)

Certifications:

NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.

Key Skills:

Analytical thinking, attention to detail, knowledge of local/international safety standards, good communication.
