Jacobs is looking for a Rolling Stock Inspector to join one of our Rail projects in the UAE. The successful candidate will work as an integrated member of the Construction Supervision team. We are looking for a professional who will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our project delivery capabilities. The vacancy is for an experienced rolling stock inspector for the construction supervisions stages for the new rolling stock fleet for the Etihad Rail stage 2. The rolling stock fleet will comprise of new locomotives, a variety of new wagons and yellow plant maintenance of way equipment. The Inspector will report to the Rolling Stock Engineer. The role will be based in Abu Dhabi, and travel to other sites within the UAE will be required from time to time. The successful applicant should possess the following skills and experience:

• Communicate effectively.
• Plan and prioritise tasks/activities.
• Experience in rolling stock testing and commissioning or maintenance or operations.

For the construction supervision the Inspector will:

• Perform onsite inspections and provide confirmation of rolling stock readiness after delivery.
• Witness testing and commissioning of the rolling stock.
• Provide technical support and guidance during the delivery and testing of Rolling Stock.
• Assist in the investigation of defects and faults.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Supplier’s on-site team.
• Be responsible for your own, and others safety.
• Review test procedures and test reports from site tests.
• Coordinate other supervision activities of the Consultant’s engineering team.

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in rolling stock testing and commissioning or maintenance or operations.
• UAE Driver’s License.
