Context:

We are seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Engineer to join our dynamic team overseeing a prestigious railway project. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the technical integrity of the rolling stock by managing Rolling stock D&B Contracts and providing technical advise for rolling stock design, development, manufacturing, interfaces and safety.


Reporting to the Rolling stock Manager, will perform design reviews,inspections and resolution of construction or design issues, ensure the contractual compliance and smooth operation with other systems and civil infrastructure.


The chosen candidate will be an expert in construction, delivery, testing and commissioning of freight rolling stock like heavy frieght locomotives, wagons and yellow plant equipment.


Missions/Main Duties:
Supervision of the construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the frieght rolling stock and its components. Investigating and reporting defects, faults, and failures that occur during the manufacturing and assembly processes and during testing and commissioning of the rolling stock. Reviewing O&M manuals, training plans & manuals, test procedures & test reports. Maintaining relationship with rolling stock Suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Monitoring delivery milestones and intiate actions to minimise non-conformances. Monitoring testing and commissioning activities with the stakeholders including verification/validation/testing strategy and rolling stock certification. Witnessing FAI, FAT, Static and Dynamic Type and Routine Testing of the rolling Stock. Monitoring of rolling stock Trial running and final acceptance inspection of rolling stock before handover to the Operator. Maintaining adnherence to project deliverables with respect to safety, quality, budget and schedule.

Profile/Skills:
Technical/Engineering related university degree. Proven experience 10 years in a similar role within the railway industry, with a focus on rolling stock construction and Testing & Commissioning. Experience of working on large, complex and multidisciplinary projects. Experience within the mobility sector and with the delivery of new rolling stock. Significant technical experience relevant to the construction and delivery of rolling stock. Strong understanding of railway approvals, engineering practices and Standards including AAR, UIC, IEC, EN and other international relevant Standards. Skills and ability to work with a team with multicultural background and international suppliers. Fluency in both written and spoken English.
