Road Safety Officer
Overview: A Road Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring programs to prevent accidents and injuries related to transportation and workplace vehicles. Their primary goal is to ensure a safe environment for employees, pedestrians, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards on roads, work sites, and in vehicle operations.
• Policy Development: Create and enforce company road safety policies and procedures in compliance with local laws.
• Training & Education: Conduct safety training sessions for drivers and equipment operators (e.g., defensive driving, load security).
• Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations of accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze accident data to identify trends and implement proactive safety measures.
• Safety Audits & Inspections: Perform regular inspections of vehicles, equipment, and work sites to ensure safety standards are met.
• Promotion: Promote a culture of safety within the organization through campaigns, meetings, and communications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and road safety principles.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mind with problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in incident investigation techniques.
