Responsibilities



About the team

Risk control team is responsible for performing risk identification and assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls across ByteDance global functions. The team's mission is to be a trusted advisor and add tangible value to the company through insightful and comprehensive risk management practices and proactive internal controls advisory support.

Responsibilities:

1. Independently lead global projects to assess and identify risks, review policies and procedural documentation, map controls to identified risks and processes, and in doing so, identify gaps and opportunities for enhancement.

2. Develop and proactively maintain relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure key risks in the business are adequately addressed. At the same time, collaborate with cross-functional teams, including all three lines of defence, to facilitate improvement in the business's internal control environment.

3. Drive the end-to-end design, development and implementation of data analytics solutions, for the purpose of performing risk assessments, monitoring controls, and facilitating organisational process improvement.

4. Stay abreast of emerging technology, industry trends, and cutting-edge risks. Provide novel approaches to the identification and targeting of internal and external fraud or misconduct.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related major) required.

2. Good understanding of Internal Control and Risk Management functions.

3. Skilled in data manipulation with SQL or other programming languages or tools.

4. Experience in building dashboards and conducting quantitative analysis, visualisation, and reporting.

5. Experience being a trusted and valuable risk business partner to a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, demonstrating strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive action in the midst of ambiguous situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Prior experience in the Tech, Media or E-Commerce industries is preferred.

2. 3+ years of relevant work experience in the field of data analytics, risk management, process improvement, internal control or internal audit.

3. Must be detail-oriented, able to work independently and with other departments cross-functionally. Strong Project Management experience or qualifications are a plus.
