DESCRIPTION

The Risk Analyst is tasked with information gathering on events and threats that could disrupt Amazon\'s supply chain in Turkiye and South Africa. The Risk Analyst produces actionable risk assessments for Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP), Amazon operations, and other stakeholders. Reporting to the Risk Manager MEA, the Risk Analyst will act as a subject matter expert, advising senior leadership on threats and assisting during high-impact events.

Other Responsibilities may include:

• Collect, analyze, and disseminate forward-looking information and analysis on security risks
• Assess known and new vulnerabilities, risks and threats within Amazon EMEA business operations, specifically Turkiye and South Africa.
• Develop, maintain, and modify information collection strategy and processes to ensure reports are accurate, timely and relevant.
• Assist other security and risk teams with strategic projects and new programs
• Identify information and data gaps, creating techniques and collation processes to close such gaps.
• Work with and help to improve home grown and 3rd party analytical and reporting platforms to streamline workflow.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor\'s degree in related field (International Relations, Global/International Security, Terrorism, Political Science, etc.)
• Proven experience with security information gathering and analysis
• Strong English writing and speaking skills
• Strong familiarity with the Middle East and/or Sub-Saharan Africa
• Strong self-discipline and self-management skills, able to work effectively as part of a team or on a single contributor project.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master\'s degree in related field (International Relations, Global/International Security, Terrorism, Political Science, etc.).
• Military/government/law enforcement/corporate security, logistics and/or risk management experience
• Fluency in Turkish, Zulu, Afrikaans, Xhosa, or another South African language.
• Familiarity and mastery of various technology platforms, such as geospatial tools; news aggregators; and, scraping platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple, competing deadlines, with excellent attention to detail.
• Professional demeanor and ability to communicate with all levels of business leadership and staff.
