Job Description

Job Summary:

The Rigger Level 1 is responsible for assisting in the safe rigging, lifting, moving, and positioning of loads using cranes, hoists, or other lifting equipment. Works under the supervision of a senior rigger or lifting supervisor to ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in setting up rigging equipment such as ropes, pulleys, cables, slings, and shackles. Prepare loads for lifting and ensure correct attachment to lifting gear. Signal crane or equipment operators to guide load movements. Perform basic inspections of rigging gear before and after use. Follow instructions from senior riggers, supervisors, and safety officers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of rigging tools and work area. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, lifting plans, and company standards. Report damaged equipment or unsafe conditions immediately. Assist in loading and unloading materials at the worksite.

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of rigging tools, equipment, and safety practices. Ability to use hand signals and communication methods for crane operations. Physically fit to perform heavy lifting and outdoor work. Attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Team player with good communication skills. Certification in

Basic Rigging / Rigger Level 1

(from an accredited body) - preferred or mandatory depending on industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in construction, marine, or oil & gas industries. Knowledge of safe working loads and lifting limits. Basic understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment.
