The Rigger is responsible for safely setting up, inspecting, and operating rigging equipment used to lift, move, and position heavy loads. The role ensures compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and prepare rigging equipment (slings, shackles, hooks, chains, wire ropes, etc.) before use.
Determine the safest way to lift and move loads based on weight, shape, and environmental conditions.
Signal crane or equipment operators using hand signals or radio communication.
Attach loads to lifting equipment using the correct rigging methods.
Ensure proper load balance, securing, and safety before lifting or moving.
Conduct pre-lift checks and risk assessments.
Assist in crane placement and movement planning.
Monitor load movement to prevent hazards and ensure safe operations.
Comply with UAE safety standards, company policies, and site regulations.
Report damaged equipment or unsafe conditions immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum
2-5 years of experience
as a Rigger (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
Certified Rigger (e.g.,
TUV, CITB, OSHA
, or
UAE-approved third-party certification
).
Knowledge of crane operations, lifting plans, and rigging techniques.
Ability to interpret load charts, lifting plans, and equipment specifications.
Strong understanding of
HSE standards
, especially lifting operations.
Good communication skills (English required; Arabic a plus).
