Job Description

The Rigger is responsible for safely setting up and managing the lifting and moving of heavy equipment and materials using cranes, hoists, and other rigging equipment. This role requires precision, attention to safety protocols, and strong coordination skills to support construction, maintenance, or industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, inspect, and set up rigging equipment and lifting gear. Determine the safest and most efficient method for lifting loads. Communicate with crane operators and other team members using hand signals, radios, or verbal instructions. Secure loads properly to lifting equipment using chains, slings, shackles, and hooks. Ensure the stability and balance of loads during lifting and positioning. Perform regular inspections and maintenance of rigging tools and equipment. Follow site-specific safety procedures and comply with all relevant safety regulations. Assist with loading and unloading materials on site. Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and technical drawings. Support other trades or departments as needed during site operations.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a rigger or similar role in construction or industrial environments. Strong understanding of rigging techniques and safety protocols. Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy lifting and prolonged work in varying conditions. Ability to work at heights and in challenging environments. Certification in rigging or crane signaling (preferred or as required by local regulations). Good communication and teamwork skills. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Working Conditions:

Outdoor and indoor work environments depending on the project. Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions. May require overtime or weekend work depending on project deadlines.
