Retail Credit Consultant

The Retail Credit Consultant is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing the bank's retail credit portfolio in the UAE. Reporting to the Department Manager, this position ensures alignment of retail credit strategies with the bank's risk appetite, profitability goals, and regulatory requirements. The role involves developing credit policies, overseeing portfolio performance, ensuring compliance, and driving innovation in credit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement retail credit policies and frameworks aligned with UAE Central Bank regulations. Oversee and optimize the retail credit portfolio to ensure diversification, quality, and profitability. Lead the design of credit scoring models and underwriting criteria to enhance decision-making accuracy. Monitor portfolio risk, prepare analytical reports, and advise senior management on emerging trends. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and manage relationships with regulators and auditors. Build and lead a high-performing credit team with focus on Emiratization, innovation, and talent development. Drive digital transformation through automation, AI, and data analytics in credit decisioning. Oversee collections and recovery strategies to minimize credit losses and enhance portfolio health.

Qualifications & Skills:

Master's degree in Finance or related field with 12+ years' experience in retail credit risk management. Strong knowledge of UAE banking regulations, credit scoring, and portfolio management. Proven leadership in developing credit strategies and managing regulatory relationships. Expertise in data-driven risk assessment, AI/ML in credit, and digital lending. Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. Professional certifications (FRM, CFA) and GCC experience are advantageous.
