Job Description

Retail Buyer coordinates, executes and manages the activities of a buying department, classification or key programs, depending on scope and complexity, and assists the Brand Manager in developing, executing and communicating a product strategy that meets or exceeds financial goals.

Responsibilities

Plan and select the range, type, quality and quantity of merchandise in conjunction with the Division Merchandising Manager. Carry out purchasing activities in line with the brand purchase plans. Maintain profitable relationships with existing suppliers , and monitor the adherence to the contract terms Negotiate with new suppliers on product pricing, payment terms, cost of freight, provision of training, and the extent of their involvement in advertising and promotions, to decide on placing a purchase order with the supplier for the concerned product. Monitor the stock levels in the stores; coordinate with the supply chain to maintain optimal stock levels in line with the consumer demand. Support the promotional activities in the store. Receive and analyze reports on the activities and provide recommendations to the DMM/GM/Planning when required. Proactively work with training to ensure that the product knowledge is up to date and that all staff are knowledgeable on new products/trends. Review buying feedback reports and provide recommendations to Management as to buying strategy for a respective brand/collection. Prepare periodic reports analyzing the sale turnover and consumer trends per product to arrive at a decision to maintain/liquidate/dispose off the stocks and/or continue/discontinue product lines. Provide leadership and direction to colleagues towards the achievement of goals and objectives.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in any discipline 3-4 years of buying experience

(Footwear experience is must)

. Strong track record in the field of Purchasing. Excellent planning, financial, communication and interpersonal skills. Keen to travel & develop network of professional & business relationship
