The Restaurant Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. She manages reservations, greets guests upon arrival, and ensures efficient seating and guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests warmly and professionally as they arrive.
Manage the reservation and wait-list system.
Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to manage seating flow.
Answer phone calls, take reservations, and respond to guest inquiries.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk/hostess station.
Provide accurate wait time estimates when required.
Monitor dining room activity to ensure seating efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Assist with basic guest service tasks when necessary (e.g., offering water, guiding to restroom).
Handle guest complaints or concerns courteously and report to the supervisor when necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in a customer-facing or hospitality role is an advantage.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Familiarity with reservation systems is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requires standing for extended periods.
May involve occasional lifting of light items (menus, chairs, etc.).
